This place is for everyone. If you’ve ever heard bad stories of CrossFit. Trust me, this place is different. My wife and I love the workouts and they are tailored to our skill level. Everyone is so supportive and we enjoy coming to class. Every technique is gone over during the warmup and motivation is provided during the workout. Nope! Most of our members start just like you. We assess each new members fitness level.

Then our workouts are “universally scaled”, with a different version of each days workout designed for every level. As you level up you can take on more challenging variants of the workout if you desire. Sign up today!

If you’re a beginner and just starting out then 2-4 times per week will be enough to see results and allow you to adjust.

You’ll be sore some days, so allow yourself recovery days between training sessions at first – over the course of the following months work up towards 5 days per week if you want to maximize! Sign up today!

Each class is 60 minutes and led by qualified coaches. We always start together with a warm-up designed to activate the muscles being used in the workout.

The coach will brief the group on the workout, the movements, and the proper form. During the workout, the coach will be guiding and providing instruction.

At the end of class, we will cool down together to accelerate recovery and reduce potential injury. Sign up today!

We offer an exciting, challenging and varied programming which will keep it fun! The workouts are published in advance.

Some days are more strength focused where we will focus on our lifts. Movements like barbell squats, kettlebell swings and occasionally some olympics lifts will be included.

Other days, we may focus more on cardio conditioning with rowers and bikes. Some days are focused on body weight movements like pushups, sit-ups, and pull-ups. Some days are a mix of everything. Sign up today!

Coach

Coach John (CF-L1, Judges Course) comes to us from North Texas by way of Fort Worth and Wichita Falls. Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, he and his family settled in Texas shortly after he retired from the United States Navy. It was during his time in the Navy that he developed his passion for fitness, first through competitive powerlifting and then through his time as a Navy Physical Fitness Instructor.

His love for CrossFitstarted in 2013 at a small affiliate in Fort Worth and grew from there. He was able to visit a great many affiliates around the country and some around the globe during his time in the Navy and hopes to bring that diverse experience with him to Warrior Park.

He is joined in San Antonio by his wife, Christine, a PA-C who practices in the Stone Oak area and by his sons Jackson and Christian, who play every sport they can sign up for and even crash a Warrior Park CrossFit Kids Class from time to time! When he is not on the mats, you can find him volunteer coaching for his sons or checking the OCR feeds for the next muddy, rugged, off-road obstacle race that comes through town.

Hello, I’m coach Tom. I’m married to Marie and I have one adult son, John. I’m originally from Houston and moved to the San Antonio area in the 1980’s. I joined Warrior Park Crossfit in 2022. I heard CrossFit could be tough and I was looking for something athletically different and challenging.

I found both with CrossFit. The beauty of CrossFit is there is
a level appropriate for all athletic abilities. The strong sense of community at Warrior Park makes all the difference. The members are not just people I see at the gym, they are friends who I frequently see outside the gym. In 2024, I decided to get my CrossFit Level 1 certificate and start the training required to be a CrossFit coach. I look forward to learning to be a better coach and continuing my daily CrossFit workouts.

I have always been involved with sports. I played tennis in high school and continue to play today. As a runner, I’ve done 5Ks and 10Ks, half marathons and one full marathon. I’ve raced dirt bikes, bicycles and I’ve done multiple triathlons. I started hiking in 2024 including a hike on the Appalachian Trail in Virginia and on the Pacific Crest Trail in Oregon

Albert has lived in California and Arizona most of his life where he ran track and cross country. He moved to San Antonio in 2021 and joined Warrior Park CrossFit his first day here. Albert has always had a passion for fitness, cooking, eating healthy, and for his family.

Through this passion Albert’s journey took him to coaching with the goal of helping others be more present in their families lives by living a long healthy one, and doing the same for himself. Albert’s 3 kids are all gym members, one in the adults class and two in the kids class. Albert’s favorite thing about Warrior Park CrossFit is the community piece. He has loved since day one it has been a place he could workout while taking his kids.

Alex Laytano

Coach

Alex was born in Silver Springs Maryland but raised in the Texas hill country from the age of 3. He’s a father of 2 and married the beautiful Michele Laytano.Growing up on a small Texas ranch, he’s lived a very active life. As a kid he rode horses, explored ranches and played sports/games with neighborhood kids everyday till the sun went down.

Staying physically active in the construction business, home gym exercises and pick-up sports-He was able to maintain a decent health/fitness level…but seemed to be always craving more. That led him to Crossfit in 2016. After a few years taking CrossFit classes, strength training, studying the CrossFit methodology and nerding out in both health/fitness- He decided to take the Level 1 CrossFit Certificate course. From there he’s continued his education with the CrossFit Kids Course, Atomony, Running and the yearly Judges course. Alex has over 700 hours of group and personal training combined. These days he helps run Warrior Park Crossfit, coaches group/kids classes and does 1on1 foundations with all the new members.

Hi I am Coach Michele! I was born in Pittsburgh PA and grew up as a proud Army brat, which brought me to Texas. I played soccer throughout high school but after, I found myself struggling with health and fitness and was very out of shape. I found CrossFit and fell in love. The people, community, everything amazed me. It took me a little while to convince my husband, Alex, to join with me. Through lifestyle change with nutrition and CrossFit, I completely transformed myself from my heaviest weight to the best shape of my life! I went on to get my CF-L1 through CrossFit and continue to grow as a coach and business owner. We decided to open Warrior Park CrossFit to share our love of CrossFit with the community. We constantly continue to educate ourselves to be the best version of us and make us better for our community. In my spare time, I love spending time with my 2 kiddos (who also do our kids CrossFit) and my husband Alex.
